Clear Cafe
Starting out our list is none other than the fan favorite Clear Cafe! This is one of those spots that’s a tranquil oasis hidden in plain sight. Located just off one of Ubud’s bustling main roads, this café offers a serene escape with its intricately carved wooden doors and vibrant, bohemian interiors. The cozy design features a combination of whimsical stained glass, bamboo staircases, and koi ponds, accompanied by the gentle hum of soft ambient music. Take off your shoes and sink into the cushioned seating in this relaxed, communal atmosphere.
Note: Clear Café is NOT fully vegan, but offers a strong variety of plant-based dishes, which is why it is one of our recommendations. Popular items include the Moon Melt, an open-faced tuna melt slathered in grilled onion, and a side of arugula, or a C Boost smoothie bowl (seasonal) with mango, pineapple, and coco mylk! Meanwhile, their cacao avocado mousse offers a sweet finish, without the guilt (something that we love.) The café’s environment and menu come together to create a space that nourishes both body and mind, making it the perfect stop for those seeking calm and conscious cuisine in the heart of Ubud!
#9
Sayuri Healing Food
Functioning as both a plant-based café and a wellness hub, Sayuri Healing Food creates a holistic environment for both nourishment and communal healing. An open floor plan and thoughtfully arranged seating, woven mats, and ample natural lighting contribute to a calm atmosphere that has us always wanting to come back for more. We especially appreciate the staff here who are always smiling and set a tone of warmth and welcoming that makes you feel safe enough to slow down and be present.
The menu focuses on raw foods, showcasing a commitment to both flavor and nutritional integrity. The raw zucchini lasagna is intricately layered with nut cheese, pesto, and sun-dried tomatoes, offering a depth of flavor that goes beyond typical raw cuisine, making it a definite standout!
Beyond the food, Sayuri is a place of connection. Regular workshops, talks, and classes on topics like fermentation and holistic nutrition reinforce its community-centered ethos. This makes it more than just a cafe to eat at, but also a destination for education and inspiration. For these reasons, it has rightfully earned a spot on this Top 10, maintaining its reputation as one of the most beloved wellness-oriented vegan spots in not only Ubud but all of Bali!
#8
Herb Library
Located within the peaceful grounds of Alaya Resort (but accessible to the public) Herb Library blends a contemporary style with its tropical setting. A minimalist design, featuring soft wood finishes, makes it the perfect place to chill on a lazy Sunday (Psst. Combine it with a massage for a real day of luxury!!)
This café stands out for a modern take on plant-based cuisine, infusing traditional Balinese flavors with a fresh, health-oriented perspective. The Tuna Poke Bowl is especially popular here with its nutrient-dense ingredients and big portions! We also love how fresh the Tuna is. Or if you are feeling more like chowing down on some local Indonesian classics, they absolutely nail the Nasi Kuning here!
Don’t miss out on the drinks!! A range of herbal teas, fresh juices, and signature lattes made with turmeric and coconut milk keep things fresh with a plethora of options. The overall dining experience is unrushed and elegant, ideal for a peaceful breakfast or lunch.
#7
Plant Bistro
Come here to enjoy a refined take on vegan dining, with a modern European aesthetic that sets it apart in Ubud’s cafe scene! Soft lighting creates an airy, contemporary setting while the hanging greenery adds a subtle tropical touch, and the outdoor terrace provides a quiet nook surrounded by lush garden views, making it the perfect place to read a good book!
This café is known for its artisanal vegan pastries and thoughtfully crafted mains! We recommend starting with a freshly baked vegan croissant, paired with a rich and creamy oat milk flat white. If you’re feeling hungry, the Pollo Al Marsala is a plant-based chicken with sautéed mushrooms and a Marsala wine sauce that exemplifies the bistro’s elegant yet comforting approach.
Our Recommendation? Pair the rich and smooth raw cacao tart with a shot of espresso or an almond milk cappuccino.
Plant Bistro is perfect for those seeking a quieter, more polished experience while maintaining a strong commitment to plant-based ethics and sustainability.
#6
Wild Vegan
A serene sanctuary for plant-based wanderers seeking mindful meals. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere shifts as sunlight dances through bamboo slats, soft music hums in the background, and lush greenery curls around every corner. The interior is all warm neutrals, handwoven textiles, and raw wood, creating an organic, grounded space that feels more like a modern treehouse than a café.
Wild Vegan’s menu is a celebration of plants in their most playful, colorful, and nourishing forms. Each dish feels lovingly crafted, with unexpected notes and vibrant plating. The Raw Vegan Lasagna is especially stunning with layers of neatly packed vegetables stacked on top of one another, playfully and deliciously.
Here at Wild Vegan, they also have dishes that specifically cater to specific aspects of health. Try the Penne Pesto to boost heart health, or the Penne Lentil Bolognese for metabolic support!

What do we love about here? The menu is entirely plant-based and champions local ingredients with traditional techniques reinterpreted for modern cuisine. Signature dishes include the jackfruit “steak”, Green Bowls with lemon dressing, and signature Plant Pizzas! Each dish here arrives like a piece of art, brimming with color, texture, and intention.

Alchemy Bali
As Bali’s FIRST fully raw vegan café, Alchemy holds a special place in Ubud’s culinary history! Located in Penestanan, the space is bright, expansive, and bustling with energy. Communal tables and an on-site health store give the café a fresh, urban edge, while potted plants and wooden accents provide complementary warmth that some venues miss.
Dozens of fresh ingredients contribute to an expansive build-your-own salad bar with decadent house-made dressings (we feel a strong need to try them all…). Other highlights include raw sushi rolls, decadent coconut-based desserts, and hearty teriyaki bowls to get you ready for Campuhan Ridge!
Step into their health shop to pick up some supplies, send emails in their co-working space, or attend one of their regular wellness events in this nourishing space that has both a local and international following.
#2
Moksa
Now this is a hidden gem!! Tucked away in the village of Sayan amidst lush gardens is this farm-to-table restaurant built around sustainability. Much of the produce they serve is harvested straight from the garden, making it almost impossible to find a meal that can get any fresher. Bamboo walkways, blooming flowers, and even a small amphitheater for workshops and community gatherings create an idyllic atmosphere that begs more than a single visit.
The menu at Moksa is a seasonal celebration of local ingredients, prepared with culinary precision and creative flair. Highlights include the Pumpkin Burrito Wrap, Super Budha Bowl (with lemony quinoa, edamame, mushroom shawarma, and sriracha mayo), and their famous Jack Sushi Stack! We appreciate good food with a deep respect for nature, and here, that is what you will find with the establishment’s elegant plating. Moksa isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a reminder of how food can be sacred.
